From Legendary Brewers’ Land
Lithuanian brewing tradition dates back to the
11th century and it reached its peak at the end
of the 19th century – early 20th. At that time, the
highest concentration of breweries was found
in Aukštaitija – the native land of the Kalnapilis
brewery. It was in this region where the true
Lithuanian beer taste, greatly influenced by the
German beer traditions and culture, was born.
About
Boasting over 116 years of experience, Kalnapilis
brewery is one of the most modern and innovative in
the Baltic States. Being contemporary and young in
mind Kalnapilis is also passionate about the highest
quality and is a winner of numerous beer festivals.
1902: Albert Foight has built a brewery in Panevezys,
LT. And named it Bergschlösschen.
1935: Change of the name to Kalnapilis.
1990: Kalnapilis became a state brewery.
1997: First Lithuanian beer commercial.
2001: Kalnapilis was acquired by Royal Unibrew.
2014: Heineken partner in the Baltic States.
2015: Export to 16 countries world wide.
2016: Became a supplier of the Walmart in Chili.
2017: Became a supplier of the Walmart in China.
